That's fair enough actually.

The reason why I go to a public school is because I would be in trouble for objecting to their religious views.
The one detention I have ever been given was because of religion. I was in English and we'd gotten onto the topic of fate and that quickly turned to religion and one girl told a story about this guy who was sick and once he got better he went to church, then when he stopped going he was hit by a car. He recovered from that incident and returned to church he has been has not had another accident.
My class had taken the 'It must a a miracle from God.' stance.
And I had held my tongue until that but I simply said how it's stupid them to think that God (and I went back on myself and repeated God with inverted commas which, in hindsight, probably wasn't my best move) is this almighty being when that story actually shows he's punishing someone for not going to church. Yeah, he sounds like a real top bloke.

Then when I was in detention my English teacher asked if I'd learnt anything and I said "Yes, I've learnt that if Jesus were real and he loved me I wouldn't be here right now."
That was a good day.

Religion is ultimately why I decided to leave the private schools.
At my first one, the science teachers weren’t allowed to teach evolution. A fundamental scientific theory. And none of the teachers were allowed to say certain words such as gay, abortion or any of that. If a student said any of the forbidden words in class they were to be ignored which to me is mind blowingly stupid.

I was suspended a few times, once was on my birthday which was pretty annoying because I wanted to spend it with my friends and I was positive that I was falsely accused but they still suspended me for the day. A few days later the teacher who did it said ‘we looked into it, turns out you weren’t meant to be suspended’ (paraphrased) and nothing else. You can see why I’m bitter about schools in general.
